NY bike route

I am going to be biking form upstate New York to the Hamptons. I am having trouble finding a route through the Bronx and out on Long Island. Does anyone know of any route that we can take the whole way on long island? thanks

You dont state what part of "upstate" so I'll have you look into the following:

North & South County trails in Westchester Cty.
From E 233rd St and Bronx River, The Bronx River Bike paths to Pehlam Parkway.  Check out Transportation Alternatives for bridge crossings (you cant ride over the Throggs Nerck or Whitestone, but you can ride over the Triboro to Queens).  Also check out Trailink.com
