Combining some solo vacation time with some family events, it looks like I'll be trying to do about 3 days' worth of road touring from the Santa Fe, NM area in June.

Can anyone recommend a loop or out-and-back route in that area in the 150-200 mile range?  Just looking to do a self-contained camping trip on the bike.

Thanks!

Try looking up the Santa Fe century route  Its a 100 mile ride in May.  Might be a good route to try.  A local bike shop Bike&Sport may also have some good ideas.

I just moved here a few months ago to prepare for a cross country trip in May :-)

Check out the New Mexico Touring Society website (www.nmts.org). They have some routes listed.

You can do the Santa Fe Century route but I dont think I would camp. Just a big loop. If you like hill climbs ride from the City of SF to Santa Fe Ski area or drive down the back road to Tijeras NM and ride up to Sandia Peak Ski area. Both are just 2-3 hr climbs so not much camping there but great scenery and you could make day of it. You could do a out and back from Santa Fe, through Los Alamos and camp in the Jemez. Lots of vert out and haul ass back. Check out the nmts.org as it has alot of good info.
