Asheville NC to Columbus Ohio

I'm thinking about doing a trip from Asheville to Columbus this Summer.  
I'm having trouble finding route info.  Does anyone have any suggestions
for planning a route?  While I am an experienced cyclist and mechanic,
this will be my first loaded tour beyond an afternoon.  I would like to mix
up the evenings between camping and maybe a B&B.  Thanks for any
advice!

I was planning a trip from Dayton, OH to Sunset Beach 2 years ago and never made it; for varoius reasons. Anyway, I have a route that was given to me by a group of riders from the Dayton Cycling club that will take you from Damascus, VA to Dayton, OH. They took this route to hook up with the ACA Trans-AM Route headed East.

when i biked to asheville from pittsburgh i took the blue ridge parkway most of the way. its beautiful and fairly safe, but it is challenging. its definitely worth doing at least once, however i'm sure there are easier routes.
