Just wondering if anyone has any first-hand experience about the Atlantic Coast Route.  I am trying to decide on multi-week trip in 2010 and I think I have it narrowed down to a couple of routes, this being one.  Thanks in advance for any information.

Sorry...I finally go the search to work and found some information....but, I will still take anything else you have.  :)

I've done the route from New Paltz, NY to around Wells Beach, ME before deviating from the map.  What do you want to know?  Except rolling hills through dutchess county, some beautiful countryside in the NW CT. A big hill after some reservoir in the middle of CT.  Friendly campsites and campsite owners, although you will be typically sharing your tiny little 2 person hoop tent with huge humongous RVs (hahahaha).   NH is really quick as you go through exeter and Portsmouth.   There is not much camping on the route in Wells/Wells Beach at least the campsite we saw there was insane, wall to wall tents, didn't look nice so we splurged that time (the only time we stayed in a motel)....

Can't help you on the other sections south of NY though, I rode my own route to get to New Paltz from NJ, where I live.

Thanks for the responses Jay & Ed.  I wasn't looking for anything in particular.  I was initially planning on a Northern Tier trip supported by my wife and kids (can't leave them at home that long), but with gas prices I was looking at an alternative trip closer to home.  I am sure that the northern part of the Atlantic Coast Route is beautiful, but I was wondering a little about the trafic in the southern section, mainly Florida.  Thanks again for the help.
