Paved Great Divide maps?
« on: August 27, 2008, 10:44:38 pm »
I heard a rumor that ACA might be working on a paved Great Divide route.  I suspect the fellow was thinking of the Cascade/Sierra route currently under construction.  Is there any truth to these paved Great Divide map rumors?

Thanks,

Scott

ACA is not working on a paved Great Divide Route. We are working on a
paved route that parallels the Pacific Crest. The route is called the Sierra
Cascades Bike Route.

Thanks.  I figured that was the case.  Re. the Pacific Crest route:  Avoid Hwy 89, particularly around Quincy and pts. north.  Hideous, angry nasty-ass logging truck drivers and tons of other traffic.  I found this to be one of the worst roads to tour on.  Please, avoid it at all costs!

Cheers,

Scott

:) :) :)  I liked how you ended the commentary with "cheers".  Seriously not being negative, just thought it seemed funny going from a "negative" (don't know which word to use) to "cheers".

Happy trails and may the wind be at your back!
