It's interesting. The NG Topo! program that REI donated to us is much easier to use in terms of downloading GPS tracks and waypoints, but it's a lot harder to edit than the DeLorme Topo 5.0. The NGT program has a bad habit (which I have not yet resolved) of adding in connecting lines between places where I stop a track and where I start a new one. The actual track screen on the eTrex does not show the lines, but the saved track does. On the Delorme, I could just highlight a track section (when I could get them into the PC)and delete it. I don't seem to have that abliity with the new program. Any suggestions?

Ride safe,
Hans

Hello Hans. The only way I know is to convert the sections into separate tracks, but I do not know how to do that in NG Topo! If you find it cannot, then Garmin's MapSource or OziExplorer can. Ain't software wonderful?

In TOPO you can right click on any point of a track line and a menu window will open.  One of the options is to "Split in 2" at the point that you right-clicked.  The line remains continuous.  But, the line can now be manipulated in two units (i.e. naming, profile building, mileage determinatio, etc.)

Does this help?
