And today is your lucky day.  I just happen to have a Raleigh SC Sport Comfort tandem for sale. Seriously, we do. $450.00 South Florida,  New in 2000 it was $875.00

We are selling it now that both Judy and I are riding recumbents and we will be getting a custom tandem recumbent trike in 2004.  Riding a tandem is a blast. The Raleigh has treated us just fine. 24 speeds, twist grip shifters, suspension fork for the captain, and a suspension seat post for the Rear Admiral.

How experienced is your wife on a bike?  Do not forget she is back there.  The best thing you can do is to have a cadence computer up front. Let her set the pace and then you maintain that pace using the cadence computer.  I made the initial mistake of forgetting Judy was back there and beating here little legs to death when I would spin it up to 90 rpm. It is a team effort and so much fun. Keep it fun for her and she will want to ride with you. Make it a fittness event and you will lose a riding partner.

The Raleigh is a hybrid but we changed the tires to a more road tread and changed the pedals to spd clip ins.
