Where to learn about bike parts?

Help!  I need some ideas on references to learn about all the various components that make up a "bike" after selecting a frame.  I want to be able to at least converse with bike shops and know the purposes of cassettes and hubs and brakes and....much less the differences between a "105" and "dura ace".  Any pointers on where to start are greatly appreciated!

All cyber cycling queries should start with Sheldon Brown ( www.sheldonbrown.com or www.harriscyclery.com ).  There's a lot of information so take your time and ask questions here if you're still stumped.  If you're looking for something a little more tactile, there are a number of good books out there. Some to look for include:

Bicycling Magazine's Complete Guide

There is also the Park Tool website (www.parktool.com) that is a very valuable resource for bike repair and maintainance techniques.  You may not be interested in building a bike up yourself yet but knowing how it's done can be very useful information.
