anyone have any expirience with the Burley Nomad?  How does it stand against a Bob trailer?

I towed a BOB.  My daughter towed a Burley Nomad.  The BOB is harder to balance.  But, it goes on and off the bike easier.  The Burley Nomad requires you to ride further out in the roadway.  Also, by the end of our trip, some of the rubber bands securing the cover had broken.  I think the Burley catches more wind, especially if there is a headwind.

I assume your on paved roads. I would not use a 2 wheel trailer off road.
A BOB can go anywhere.
For paved roads I traded my BOB in to buy the Burley Nomad when my expedition loads got heavier and bulkier. With the Burley I sometimes forget it's behind me. My old BOB bag fits inside the Nomad with room to spare. There's no problems balancing or handling the Burley or the bike.

I plan to ride the continental divide some day so I would buy a Bob trailer again for off road touring.

I think the more basic question is 2-Wheel vs. 1-Wheel trailer. I have used both, and as someone else has said, I sometimes forget the 2-wheeler is there. In my terminology, the Bob tries to control me, while I control the 2-wheeler. I have never pulled a trailer off-road.

I have both - I generally use the BOB because in my typical around town errands it keeps me further away from the cars. The Burley is much easier with a big load, the BOB with a heavy load requires speed to get stable and getting up to speed can be a challenge.

My wife and I have towed a BOB, Burley, and a Bike Friday trailer behind a Tandem Two'sDay and a Burley Samba long distance.  We like the two wheels best because we find they are more stable on the fast downhill.

The BOB puts too much weight on the rear wheel.  It may have attributed partially to two blowouts on the rear.  :-|
