M038, M036 or other shoes
« on: March 09, 2006, 10:41:01 pm »
I am looking to get a pair of SPD compatible shoes for a long tour.  I have looked at the Shimano M038 and M036 and read some reviews.  They look the same and have been given similar reviews.  what is the difference?  Does anyone have any other suggestions for a good touring shoe?

Don't know about the M03x shoes, but for general touring and hiking I
urge you to consider Lake's offerings <www.lakecycling.com>. I've used
Lake MX100s (antecedent of today's MX101) for years; they're inexpensive
and versatile enough to obviate the need of packing an extra pair of non-
spd footwear for general recreational and utilitarian use. Lake's pricier
MX155 and MX255 look quite nice also.
