I got some Shimano sandals because I'd heard that people who have them love them.  But - I can't get them unclipped!  I also have some Shimano shoes with identical cleats and have no problems with them.  Anyone have any experience with this?

Back to the shop! Not all cleats are interchangeable with all pedals. I have two bikes with different pedal makes and had to find the cleat that would work with both pedals and my shoes and sandals. The Shimano SM-SH 51 cleat works with both my Wellgo and Shimano pedals. But since you have the same cleat on your shoes try some chain lube on the cleat. Other than that I'm stumped.

Check and see if you can't loosen the tension on your pedal.  New cleats can be tight when you first get them.

Driftless and Badger, thank you both.  I'll give 'em a try.

Have you solved the problem?

Driftless, the pedals apparently are not adjustable.  BUT - BADGER - THE CHAIN LUBE WORKED! :)
I am hereby a HAPPY CAMPER!  Sorry it took me so long.  I kept leaving the sandals at home when I was riding away from home, and when I was home, I forgot about them (since my other shoes work fine).  But now - I have SANDALS!  Thanks, guys!
