SRAM Powerlink Connector

These links can be nearly impossible to remove when they are dirty.

At a bike shop last summer, they had a tool that makes them easy to remove. The tool looked like a small pair of pliers with little hooks on the nose to keep the connector links from slipping off.

I have been trying to buy one of these tools, but with no luck. My local bike shop didn't know what I was talking about, and I don't know what to 'Google' to find them on-line.

Does anybody know what I'm talking about?

Sounds like the Park Master Link Pliers.  Is this what you are looking for?

Thanks Jim.

But if you look closely at the photo of the 'pliers', they appear to have a hook at the nose, kinda like the 'Park Master Link Pliers' that Sean talks about.

Perhaps this is one of the times when I wished I had a hooked nose! (as opposed to a handsome classic Roman, Greek, or African nose)

Paul. They look like ordinary medium or small size Vice grips too me that is why i posted . So you would not need buy a special tool .I also think that regular plyars would work .I think the concept is to get the tension off the chain with the baggie tie or something similar .  I have yet to use a power link because it looked  hard to get apart till i saw Brian's post on crazyguy recently ,will try one on next chain.

I found that a wire tie works great relieving the pressure on the links. After I replace the master link, I just cut the wire tie off.    Alex

After reading Brian's post at crazy guy how to remove SRAM Powerlink Connector,i had a [ Why didn't i think of that moment].
 Did you think of this or learn somewhere else ??

Actually I learned the wire tie trick from my friend who is the local Cannondale,Aegis,Marin dealer.
