Most of us carry lightweight pumps on our bikes for flats, but it is extremely hard to get maximum pressure in tires with the little travel pumps.  I'm wondering what folks use for topping off their tires during long tours. Are there lightweight floor pumps you recommend?

Thanks,
Lisa

There are several frame pumps that have fold out legs or floor
platforms. Topeak makes a few models, look for the Road Morph, very
popular, I've got one. Works great.

I'll second that. When my sweetheart found that she could not reach 100 psi with her old pump, I bought one for her. I liked it so much that each of our four bikes now has one.

I have had a Topeak Combo Master Blaster for several years, and am quite happy with it.

In following David's link, I see that my model has been discontinued, apparently replaced by the Road Morph G, which looks identical.

The Mountain Morph was OK on our recent tour.  All of the frame pumps are a bit awkward to get high pressures, but it was adequate.  It was enough of a hassle that I was always happy when I was somewhere that I could use a floor pump though.

I use a cartridge type pump as my primary and a standard type frame mount as my back up. Primarily because I was a certified auto mechanic and I am lazy, I like triggers and compressed air!

The frame mount pump I use is Topeak Mini Master Blaster, it puts enough air into the tire to at least get to a service station and air. One thing about hand pumps is the rubber seal the goes around the valve stem can wear out -- the valve cap threads are murder on rubber -- and if you can carry a replacement for it, you'll be covered. I had one go out on me before and it's one of those weird things you never think about until you have to.

Have a good ride!

I'll third that. Great little pump with an ingenious design that turns it into a mini-floor pump.

Another vote for the Road Morph. Worked great on my last tour, and I never worried about stressing the valve because the pump has that nice hose (just like a floor pump).

Another vote for the Topeak morph..and it's flexible hose and built in pressure gauge.
