Hi there, we are planning a self supported tour across the US on a
Greenspeed tandem. We have not been able to find any trailers that are
bigger than bob yaks for the two of us. We are thinking of building a
trailer ourselves because we feel packing panniers and a bob yak is too
messy, and we cannot lock our stuff. Or does anyone out there know of
a slightly larger trailer suitable for a recumbent tandem? Thanks

I towed the Mule down the Oregon Coast this summer with way too much gear for one person!  I did have problems with the hitch couplings and high speed stability.  Koolstop has replaced the nylon couplings with aluminum ones, which are much more stable.  It was a very easy switch and the folks at Koolstop were very helpful in getting me just the right parts.  As for the Mules 100 pound load capacity--I am sure I have had that and more on local grocery store runs.  I haven't put enough miles on the new hitches comment on their longevity.

I don't know how it would work on your tandem.  But there is a lot of adjustment range and the folks at Koolstop told me they have adapted them for a wide variety of bicycles.
