Rodriguez bikes and fenders?
« on: January 14, 2008, 05:17:21 pm »
I learn so much from reading this forum that I thought I would throw this out there:  I bought a Rodriguez Adventure touring bike a couple of years ago and I'm slowly trying to fit it up to tour.  But, when I tried to put fenders on it, I discovered that the rear one wouldn't fit!  The frame just doesn't allow it.  The bike has 26 inch wheels and I was trying to put Planet Bike ATB fenders on it (I'm not sure how wide these are...maybe 60mm?).  The front fit perfectly, but the rear was no go.  The frame maker told me that he uses 700 c fenders and they work fine.  Has anyone ever tried putting 700 c fenders on a 26" bike?  Or can you think of anything else that might work?  And does anyone else out there own a Rodriguez?  What do you think of it?  I have to say that I've enjoyed the bike (and the frame maker has been great about responding to questions) but there have been several little things like this that have been annoying.  I'd love to hear from anyone else who owns one or who can shed light on the fender question.
