Pannier/Daypack combo?
« on: January 23, 2008, 03:43:50 am »
Does anybody know of a pannier that can also serve as a daypack? I've used shoulder straps on my Jandd "Mini Mountain" panniers but this doesn't work when I have to walk any distance with filled panniers. Any guidance or reviews on such a product would be mightily appreciated.
Thanks...

ortlieb sells harnesses to convert their panniers into daypacks:

Just doing a google:

http://www.thetouringstore.com/ORTLIEB/Ort%20Accessories/ORT%20ACCESSORIES%20PAGE.htm

Scroll down and look for Harness..

Have no experience with it though or that website either...

Nashbar sell one but it may be larger then what you need.  I got one and use for an emergency bag.

Arkel sells one too, but it's only for converting one pannier to a backpack.

I've never tried them, but I'm intriguied by the panniers that convert into backpacks found at www.panpack.com.  Maybe these would work for you.
