Companion wanted for Trans America/Western Express
« on: March 28, 2006, 08:39:46 pm »
I am an 20 year old male looking for someone to ride across the United States with. I plan to ride east to west, taking the Transamerica trail to where it connects to the western express, then riding the western express till the end. I plan to camp most of the time but spend one night about every week in a motel. I expect to ride 70ish miles a day, so it should take about 9 weeks. I havnt decided on a departure date, maybe around the end of April or May. None of this is set in stone so I would be happy to work with someone to decide on the route, date of departure and the direction of travel. I should be ready to go mid April, and would be happy to leave anytime after that.

Email me or post here.

Lee -- I'm intersted in your trip. I'm planning the same route, dipping the back wheel in the Atlantic in Virginia Beach, and the front wheel in the Pacific off the end of Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, where I used to live, about 10 weeks later (but no firm schedule). I'm in Chesapeake, VA, now, and planning to leave end May (after Appalachian snow is gone). I also plan to camp, occasional motel, and some rest days in interesting places. Even if we don't travel together, I'd like to keep in touch with you as I plan for this treck (see discussion "Western Express"  in the Routes topic area). My email is in my profile. -- Doug
