Hello --

I'm Bob.  Janet and I live in Boulder, and have been biking for some long time.  I've done a long solo tour in the distant past, we did short tours and Ride the Rockies on a Santana tandem.  After a break in the riding, we started again, on recumbents (Bacchetta Giro 20's).  Last year, we did about 2k miles each, including a four day tour in SW Colorado (Slumgullion Pass loop from Gunnison).  We hope to do some of the rails to trails routes this year. 

We also have a cabin near Fairplay, and we'll try Roy Leinfuss's route this summer, as well as the Buena Vista Bike fest in May,

Hi Everyone,
I'm Dave and am down in the Castle Rock/Larkspur area.  Have done a couple of supported rides and one self-supported/solo ride (was great!).  Also have a couple of older sons that are getting interested in touring as well.  That time of year to get back in shape and hope the weather continues to cooperate lol.  Would be great to meet other people in Colorado interested in touring, some training rides, or maybe a weekender sometime.  Pretty riding down my way if you need an excuse to just get out and ride.

A quick self introduction. I'm John Sieber, the IT Manager/Web Developer here at Adventure Cycling Association. As I'm based in Missoula, MT I won't be a regular contributor to this board but wanted to get this thread started. Feel free to discuss any topics about cycling in Colorado.

Just came across this forum...good to know of another cycling resource. Ed from Colorado Springs - northeast side of town near Powers and Briargate Parkway. Driving a recumbent trike around town for the past year, lots of hills but no wedgies :-)

Hi all, another Boulder tourist here.  I'm 40-something, female, partnered with a man who doesn't ride - we share another sport, rock climbing.  I ride with a couple of local clubs, plus do mostly solo bike tours, mostly in the western US but have done a few first-world overseas trips.   I usually do self supported fully loaded tours carrying panniers on a road touring bike (trek 520), with camping and cooking.  I also do week-long group supported road rides, and am interested in possible small group credit card touring.

I like riding in the mountains, deserts and coasts the most.  I avoid flat routes whenever possible.

Keep me in the loop if front range tourist get-togethers get planned.

Hey there, especially Lafayette and Louisville folks,
I'm a touring cyclist in Lafayette,and I just got a Trice NT Trike so I do both. Have done 4 ACA Montana rides, various European tours, and now on the trike, we did a SE Utah tour last fall (Escalante, Bryce). Rode a 600 mile loop in CO a few years ago.

Been out and about exploring the Denver/Boulder trails as I just moved to Lafayette from Fort Collins last year. Nice rides and I'm always looking for suggestions. Say hi if you see two trikes going down the road. Did you know the biggest Trice dealer lives 1.5 miles from my house in Louisville?? I like the suspension and foldability and comfort.

I'm up for an OLI rendevous in Louisville sometime of ACA riders. (Old Louisville Inn). Did anyone else go to the reunion dinner and ride two years ago with Jim Sawyer in Boulder? Sorry I missed you BH at the Waterloo. I'm just new to this forum.

I'm Sean and I'm a total noob. I just became a member of ACA yesterday. I have never toured, but I want to give it a try. The longest I have ridden in a day is 65 miles. I'm 53 years old and have only been peddling since September '08.

I ride a Trice T trike that I set up for cargo so I can use it instead of my car for errands within 30 miles or so.

Before I join a group tour, I'll build up to a point where I can peddle multiple days of 60 miles or more.

I look forward to meeting many of you in the months/years ahead.

Howdy, I'm B.J. Ondo and along with my wife Jo, we have just gotten back into bicycling in early 2009. We bought MTB's but found out we like path/rail-trail and road riding more so we converted our MTB's into more roadworthy hybrids. We are extreeme beginners, just looking into the touring riders world and will join ACA in Jan. 2010.

We went to a presentation for the ACA in Colorado Springs on Dec. 4th. and fell in love with "idea" of becoming touring riders, now the hard part comes, working our way UP to be able to tour So we plan to start with easy overnighters in 2010 and start working towards "multi-day" tours towards the end of the summer. Being 50+ riders and Jo working retail we don't get a lot of time to "train" so we will do the best we can and work towards the goal of riding from CO. to Maine 8 years from now when we go on Social Security, put all our stuff in storeage and head out for as long as it takes! Hope to meet some of you along the road in the future!

Hey, you can call me Xizang.  Actually, that's the name on my mtn bike, which I've had since new in 1995.  I used to live in the Castle Rock area - back 40 years ago when it really was just a tiny little town way south of Denver.  After working and living in California and the Atlantic Coasts, I'm currently in Greeley.  No palm trees, sandy beaches or surf to ride in here!

I never have felt really comfortable riding along narrow, heavily travelled highways.  I've always enjoyed bike trails away from cars and (cough) exhaust. 

Anyway, there are lots more trails to ride in Colorado than in Florida or Georgia!

    -Riding bikes since age 13: BMX, Trials, XC, Commuting, Touring (in that order)

     -Did a fair amount of bike repair at some local shops. Had to quit; don't mix business and pleasure.     
      -Sold my truck and motorcycle after BP Horizon. Bike or bust.
       -Single, no kids, no mortgage, no debt, no restrictions.
        -currently have 4 bikes but that changes alot.

ACA member for over a year (only know b/c I keep getting re-subscribe mail. I will, just hold your horses.)
