The Natchez Trace Parkway in January or February

A friend told me about the Parkway this evening.  Does anybody have any ideas about conditions for a self supported trip in January or Feb?  Being from Wisconsin, I have the impression that all weather is great in the south during these months.  But I thought it best to ask as I may be wrong.

Along the Natchez Trace Parkway in January and February - the dead of winter -you can expect freezing temperatures in the night/early morning if a cold front rolls through.  This is highly probable. At best it might hit 70 at the warmest part of the day. It will be warmer than Wisconsin but not by all that much.

Returning to Florida from the west coast a few years ago I woke up to 28 degree weather in Mobile in mid December. And that was down on the Gulf coast. It was undoubtedly colder up north and inland on the Natchez Trace.
