Transam to NYC
« on: May 28, 2009, 05:35:43 pm »
I'm going to taking the western express to the transam  and connecting to NYC this summer.  I don't want to take the transam all the way to virginia then start heading north.  So I was wondering if any one has experience or advice for with diverting from the transam and taking a more direct route to NYC.  I've did see this posted before but there were no benifical responses.  If you were going to do this what would your suggestions for planning this route be?

Look at the ACA routes:http://www.adventurecycling.org/routes/network.cfm.  It looks like you can start NE on a new route in Western Kentucky.

Pennsylvania and New Jersey are good bicycling states. If you can jog up there you should be in good shape. Plenty of PA bicycling routes online. Of course, going to Virginia and up the coast would also be very pleasant and wouldn't add much to your trip.
