ACA Touring Puerto Rico

I'm new to the forum and hoping to find some information on touring Puerto Rico.  I am considering either doing the organized ACA tour or trying to put something together myself.  Does anyone have info on the type of roads to expect?  Also would you suggest bringing your own bike on the plane or trying to rent one in San Juan?

I would love to hear from someone on this topic too. My wife and I are planning a trip and wondering some of the same questions. Any experienced Puerto Rico riders in here?

If no one replied to this, I can give you some information on touring Puerto Rico by bicycle. I have done numerous rides around the island on bike tours.  The most recent one that I did is the determination tour.
