Knobbier Wider Tire for 1984 Trek 520

I feel kinda dumb asking this question, but would this tire

be appropriate for a three day solo tour on a crushed limestone trail on a 1984 Trek 520?  1-3/8 works out to 35 mm on a 27" rim.  I'm looking for something a little more heavy-duty for the non-asphalt trail (Great Allegheny Passage out of Pittsburgh) when the weather may be cool and/or sloppy.

I've ridden on several sections of the various trails that make up The Great Allegneny Passage and the crushed limestone surface is pretty hard and undemanding.  I've ridden it using 700x23 tires on a road bike with no problems. 

The tires you link to seem too agressive and will have a lot of rolling resistance for this use.  Try to find some 27x 1-1/4" (basically 32 mm) touring tires with a milder tread.

Our group on the GAP ride used road tires from 23 to 32 mm. No one complained. This was in dry conditions. Crushed limestone will definitely have soft spots and occasional mud puddles when wet, though. I second Dave's suggestion.
