ACA Routes and Waypoints on Garmin Nuvi?

Hello:

Can anyone tell me if I can install ACA routes and waypoints on a Garmin Nuvi-  (A car gps)?  I would like to use it for finding hotels, stores etc.  This would be used in addition to my paper maps. I have a Garmin etrex but the Nuvi with the touch screen is so easy to use and has a lot of information.   I have an AC adapter that charges the battery that lasts about 3-4 hours when on.

No, according the the Garmin web site and the Nuvi review at http://gpsinformation.info/nuvi/nuvireview.html. It will hold 1000 waypoints but no routes. That is, it will not navigate along a pre-determined sequence of waypoints. I'd guess that it will navigate from your present position to any one of the waypoints. Can a Nuvi owner confirm this? Transferring waypoints through the USB port to MapSource is possible but awkward, according to the review.
