How to get from Portland to Coast (Tillamook, Seaside etc)

hello everybody,

I've made it to Portland and would like to cycle down the Pacific Coast from here. Since I have to hurry a bit I want to start at the coast. What is the best way to get there with a bike? Amtrak, Greyhound, Hitchhiking?

Best way to get from Portland to the coast? Ride!

I just look at a map and ride.  Sometimes, I'm sure, I don't get the best road or route, but you can ask people along the way for ideas.  Also, for me, the unknown road is part of the adventure, and that's really the point.
