Thanks for that - found a few new ones!  We are a family who's done extensive touring with our children.  Right now, we are in Ecuador - we've pedaled 17,000 km from Alaska to get here!  We've got about another year to go before we reach the southern tip of South America.  Anyway - I've got all the bicycling families I know of that have websites linked to in my blogroll  at www.familyonbikes.org/blog   If you know of more, please let me know so I can add them!

A family trip from Boston to Seattle....mine in fact. Mom, Dad, and 11 year old son (whom turned 12 on the trip). Still working updates on photos. I can't recommend touring with your family highly enough! Our son made it the whole way on his own bike!

Cycling with children has to be one of the most rewarding experiences that I have ever had. I have cycled with both my boys (24, 21) when they were teens; my youngest rode XC with me twice (when he was 13 and 17). I would encourage everyone to ride with children whether or not they are yours.

My experiences have been so enriching, I have been riding with teens since 1998. I now run a non-profit that uses cycling to help kids set and reach goals, teach life skills, promote teamwork and an appreciation of diversity, help others through service projects, and promote environmental awareness.

Check us out at http://www.biketernity.org and join us!

If I can help anyone with questions about cycling with teens I would love the discussion.

For us, the reality of bicycle touring just never changed when we started a family. We now have two children under 4-years-old and they have joined us on thousands of kilometers of bicycle travel. We love it, and they love it too!

Our big trip is coming up this spring. In May we leave for our longest tour yet, 12 months on road as a family. We have a blogged a few of our adventures in the past year on our site: http://www.pedalpoweredfamily.com and you can find us on Twitter @pedalpoweredfam and Facebook as well.

Hello,
Seeing as the last post was over ten years ago, I was wondering if anybody had some more up to date links to add to this list, or their own adventures to share.

My wife and three kids have been living in China the past ten years and because of COVID have not been back to the States in about 6.  It's crazy to think about.  When my wife's teaching contract finishes in June of 2024, we plan to take a year off to tour around the USA.  The kids will then be 12, 9 and almost 5.  The current plan is for my wife to ride a triplet with the two younger kids, and for me to ride a tandem with a trailer, the eldest child, and most of the gear.

Funny story,
One day I asked my wife "How would you feel about a small climbing wall in our appartment?"  The answer was basically "NO, OUT Of THE QUESTION"
Another day I asked her "How about we take a year to cycle around America"  Her response "Okay!"  I was shocked.

A great gift.
Did a fair amount of campimg two boys. When they were between 4 and 9 y, we had a good time with a tandem Adams Trail a Bike pulled behind my bike, or occasionally the tandem. The feel was pretty good.

If you do a triplet with a tandem trail a bike and a cargo trailer as one unit, send a photo.....

Irode a tour with my daughter and two teen grandkids this summer: https://www.crazyguyonabike.com/doc/?o=3d2&doc_id=25295&v=9j

Grandson (17) said, “I knew this would be cool, but I didn’t think it would be this cool.”  We had a great time!
