Avid cyclists market study participants needed asap
« on: December 05, 2009, 01:56:54 am »
I am looking for people that have a passion for cycling to participate in a worldwide study.

The purpose of this research is to gain an understanding of what sort of bikes and equipment people love and why.

This study requires that you be between the ages of 25 and 40 and be an AVID cyclist. You must reside in the U.S. or Canada.

Participants will log on every day for only 10-20 minutes for the two weeks from 12/7 - 12/20. For this you will receive $150 at the completion (check mailed).

If you are interested in being a participant, please contact us asap.

Best,

The old famous, "The check is in the mail!" trick!

What's up with the age deal? I'm 41 and consider myself an avid cyclist, but I partake in the study! Booooooo! ;-)

If this is "legitimate," why are you in such a hurry?

Google reported perhaps a dozen similar posts on various cycling forums, all from someone who has crated a user account for the purpose of mounting the single post. Some of the threads have generated similar responses as mine.

Anyone sign up? If so, please let us know what the experience was like and if you ever got your check.

I don't trust this kind of stuff, I've reported this post to the mods as "questionable or, at the least, inappropriate."

All I know is that they are looking for 20 somethings.  Young, but no disposable income.  I have disposable income, but at 51 I am too old.

Good points.  It seems to be the middle-aged people who are well enough established financially in life to spend the bucks.  But thinking that 40 is the end of real physical performance or interest in intense workout is ridiculous.  One of Lance's team mates helping him get one of his last TdF wins was 42, and obviously those guys are the crème de la crème.  I'm nearly 50 and have been my fastest ever in the last three years, climbing a local canyon 3mph faster than I could 25 years ago.  Jeannie Longo is still winning pro women's races at age 50.  Many of the people who do the really long organized rides like PBP which I think is 750 miles in three days got started in their 50's.

You should also read the forums, and ask some distributors and bike-shop owners what sells.
