Ohio River into Pittsburgh Pa
« on: March 19, 2010, 10:32:28 am »
Hi can anyone tell me which is the most suitable road to take, coming from the Beaver in the north, into Pittsburgh.  There are two roads that follow the Ohio River, Ohio River Blvd & Constitutional Blvd, but looking at Google it's hard to tell which, if either , is bike friendly.

Thanks Tony

Tony,

You might want to check Pennsylvania Route A. It will get you as close as Coraopolis.

From there you can continue on Neville Rd. along the river, cross at McKees Rock and use the North Shore Trail into town.

Thanks Jennifer - as always very helpful - that just about wraps up my route planning - I fly over on Monday to Florida and can't wait to get going.  This time it's a mixture of Florida connector, Atlantic Coast, Trans Am, Underground Railway and then from Lake Erie to the Yough... River Trail ending with the C&O path back to Dulles Airport.
Should be fun.

Thanks again for your support.
