Mitts or Gloves for extreme cold

Another vote for lobster gloves.  Each finger gets a buddy to stay warm, but you still have enough dexterity to ride, operate brakes and shifters reliably, and able to vary your grip.

Since there is some independent movement you tend to react as if all 4 fingers have independent movement.  Takes a couple of rides for the new arrangement to get hard-wired.  And then you're all set.  And if you encounter a Vulcan you can give the appropriate greeting.

Sorry to gang on here but yet another vote for the PI's. I even use them when hiking because I love the extra dexterity they allow where you would otherwise have to remove a mitten. I just where a silk or poly liner if I'm hiking or summer weight bike gloves.

I've got two pairs of lobsters.  I use the ones from Nashbar down to 20-25 F, and the PIs are great down to 14F (the coldest it's gotten here in the last five years).  The PI lobsters are actually too hot over 25F for me!
