Tramsamerica bike shop, East start
« on: February 01, 2010, 06:05:17 pm »
Hi All

2 Brits coming to attempt the transamerica in May from the east (Yorktown). We will be shipping the bikes and wonder if anyone could recommend a bike shop near the start so we have them received and assembled and serviced read for the start.

Appreciate any advice, Thanks

There are several bike shops listed in Williamsburg, VA on the map. Contact one of them. I'm sure they have helped other cyclists to begin their journey.

Groups that I have ridden with in the past have all used "Bikes Unlimited" at 141 Monticello Ave. Barry even opened up on a normally closed Monday to accommodate us last Spring! Some older maps list them on Scotland Street but they have moved.

Thanks for advice, have contacted Bikes Unlimited and they are just what we need and have agreed to receive the bikes.

I'll be sending my bike to the start of the TransAm the end of May.  What does Bikes Unlimited charge for their services?
