Health Issue(s)
« on: February 08, 2010, 01:47:35 pm »
In trying to prepare for my "life with bike"

I went on a macrobiotic diet recently to heal gut problems and ended up with a kidney stone from too many oxalic acid foods. After fasting on watermelon and apple juice for several days to pass the kidney stone...  a couple of days later another problem presented itself (possible intestinal obstruction?) So, back on liquid fasting again to keep me in the safety zone.

Anyway, I just wanted to update everyone on where I am at with my planned trip. Being able to eat has been a hurdle for a long time.

Having a goal to be able to bike long distance forces one to reach for the stars.
Even if I end up only reaching the tree tops... I will be happy.

Sounds like you should be under the care of a doctor.

Thank you for your posts. (and care) I do have an appt. Soonest was end of March. But, being sensitive to everything (they may use) doesn't leave me (or them) many options. (I use to go into shock easily/I hope I do not do that anymore/Time will tell.) I do have western and alternative MD's. I go back and forth between the two just because I cant rely on one or the other 100% Everything is okay right now. Fasting has helped.  But, I have recently started introducing foods again. If I have upper right epigastric pain tomorrow...I will see my Dr. and he can get me in to see the specialist sooner.

Its too bad one needs to eat on a bike ride. :) If I didnt have to eat... I would be alright!
Or, if I could live on a liquid meal plan, that would work.

Got my first copy of the cycling magazine yesterday. I Like the idea of the Dutch Bike.
I am still learning all I can about biking. Just going to have to go into low gear for a while.
So, I may not be on for a while. Will let you know the outcome (if its not too terrible)

Juice fasting has served me well. Continuing to juice mornings and having soups in afternoons is taking the burden of digesting off my system. Planning on blending some meals next. I am taking the shavings that come from the juicer and dehydrating them. Then I will powder them.

Life is so much fun...
Dont juice with a lot of beets.
It will get your gallbladder going...perhaps not exactly in the way that you would want it to go.

Able to get into one appt. one week earlier. That is good news.

Health is the most important in your life. So be cured by consulting your doctor as soon as you can. Healthy person can achieve their aim sooner then unhealthy person. So, you should be healthy to achieve your goal.

So, my suggestion for you is to consult doctor, hurry up.

manikertamang, your posts are all very strange, similar to spammers' posts but with no attached advertising.  What is your purpose?

I don't get it.  He suggested that the OP see a doctor and get his health issues sorted out.  What is wrong with his post that makes it spam like, other than the fact that English is probably not his first language?

Gastroparesis

Recent Dr. Visit:
I would need to ingest radio-active material to prove I have symptoms of a paralyzed  stomach.

ps. Many years ago when I had an upper GI test, I ended up in hospital with severe pain for 5 days afterward.

They should have figured out the paralyzed stomach back then, as, it took forever for the barium to go through my system.  :(

Found a product in Denmark that may help. Still searching for other possible natural solutions.

This is definitely going to take some time to finally heal. Gastroparesis (paralyzed stomach) causes low levels in Iron, B12, D, and Calcium.

I hate to say good bye... but... I have a long road ahead of me in order to be able to bike long distance.

Nutrition is important, digestion is paramount and assimilation is... Well, you get the picture.

Thank you all.
