SOME VERY ODD POSTINGS BE AWARE
« on: February 23, 2010, 06:52:41 am »
Maybe I'm getting too suspicious but look out for some new members and what seems ok topics but they have the same advert links one selling steroids.  Apologies if I do anyone a disservice.

Secondly how do you get to report anything weird to the Moderators?

I guess I get to see these before most of you get up as I'm in UK

Click on the link "Report to moderator" at the lower right corner of the text box. He works in Montana, but gets to work early.

...and if you are at all suspicious, DO NOT click on the links posted in these posts; a very good way to get a virus or put on a spam list.

Thanks for reporting these posts with "spam" links. The reports help us to get them removed as quickly as possible. Also, thanks for making this forum a great resource for bicycle travel.

Ok Fred now you know how observant I am - spent ages looking for a link.   ;)  Let's hope I notice pot holes when out on the bike.

Me too.  Tonight I did  not notice the pothole and got my first flat in 8 months...at night, in the rain...bummer.

It ended well.

That's rotten luck, have to say you are braver than me as never venture out in the dark and always try and finish my touring well before sun down.  Having said that training indoors at moment is not much fun, but needs must.

I work out indoors, too, but have to get outside to feel good.  Where I live (in the mountains of Washington State) I have to go out in the dark to get out, because I get home in the dark for part of the year.  I really enjoy being out there all alone at night in our rural area.  The stars on a dark road and the sound of night--a distant barking dog, the train whistle off in town--are sublime.

MMMMM very nice, I too can go out here in Southampton UK , and you've never lived until you've experienced the sound of aeroplanes taking off, heavy traffic on all the roads, boy racers who like to do rallying along all the small country lanes around here.  Oh so nice.  Can't wait until I'm back over in USA and start the Atlantic Coast route this time.  So you see there is no way I would venture out at night on my bike,

It's not all bleak here just the roads, in fact I do very little road work when at home, but I do have a narrow boat further up country and that is great cycling round there including the tow paths.

I feel better for that rant  :D
