Lake Superior

I'm thinking of doing a tour along part of Lake Superior.  I would like to start at the Canadian border in Minnesota and head toward Duluth and then keep going through Wisconsin and maybe Michigan's UP.  Any suggestions?

About 10 years ago, I did an organized tour called the Northern Exposure.  We road from Watersmeet (Michigan/Wisconsin border) to the tip of the Keweenah peninsula (Copper Harbor). Gorgeous does not even begin to describe the ride.  Like the TV show, the Northern Exposure is out of business, but I will always remember the ride fondly.

In general there is great riding in Michigan's UP.

Check out this web site www. lmb.org  This is League of Michigan Bicyclist.  They have mapped out some routes in Upper Michigan.  Some go along the shore of Lake Superior and others along northern Lake Michigan.  LMB also have county maps with notes telling which roads a biker might want to ride.  League of Michigan sponsored the Northern Exposure tour.  They might still have some of maps of the tour for sale.  As Paddlebay said they nolonger offer the tour.  good luck

I will be doing a tour starting july 18th starting from Ironwood, MI. I will be riding along Lake Superior to Porcupine Mtns.-Keweenaw Peninsula-Marquette-Pictured Rocks-Soo-back across bridge-along Lake Michigan south. If this works out with your plans let me know. You don't have a lot of options on roads but I am told all have good shoulders by people that live in arears.
