Crossing Ohio (east-west): US 224 or US 30??

As part of a cross-country bike trip in the summer of 2010, I will be crossing Ohio from east to west and looking to connect to the Northern Tier in Monroeville, IN.  I am picking from two options to cross Ohio: US 224 and US 30.  I would very much appreciate any feedback about the cycle worthiness of these two roads.

Hi have you checked them out on Google Earth?  You could also put in on maps find a route by "walking" this gives fairly good routes to follow or amend to suite. 
Sorry don't know about those particular roads but GE will also give you traffic volumes.

As my wife and I intend to make the same trip as you wrote about here, we were hoping that you could share what you learned about a bicycle friendly route across Ohio.  We will be riding a tandem.  Your help would be most appreciated.

The Northern Tier used to pass right across Ohio. The section of Maps was Section 2 of the Iowa to Maine Route, and went from Corry PA to Monroeville IN. The total distance was 370 miles.

Perhaps if you contacted ACA, they might be able to assist you. If not, I would be happy to try to help out. I cycled the route in 1991, so obviously, there could be some changes. The trickiest part of that old route was the Cleveland Bypass section.

Anyway, try ACA.
