Jamis Aurora 2009 handlebar bag suggestions
« on: April 26, 2010, 02:30:53 pm »
My 2009 Jamis Aurora has cross brake levers on the handle bar which is making buying a handle bar bag for the bike quite complicated.

For all you Aurora 07, 08, 09 ,10 folks......

A) How did you get around the cross brake levers issue when you got a handle bar bag?

B) Can you recommend me any good handlebar bags for the Jamis Aurora?

If you can post pictures of your rides with a handle bar bags that would be super!

I don't have a Jamis Aurora, but the most flexible handlebar bag mount probably is the Arkel.  You can shift it around to suit your needs.

The Aurora has STI shifters, right?  That introduces another issue: some bags will interfere with shifter movement and cable runs.  A decaleur and handlebar bag might give you the mounting flexibility you need.

I used to have a Jamis Nova set up the same way and eventually lost the handlebar bag in favor of a fanny pack which I either wore or strapped across my back rack/stuff lashed there. I definitely like the utility of cross brakes.

Ortlieb"s Handlebar bag has an extender piece you can order that moves the bag out from the handlebar 3" or 4."
