here's a link to a site that sells kits to make your own lightweight tarp and bug net set up.  There are good photos of the complete set-up at the very bottom of the page.  prices are on the order form page.

One more point for tarps. Problem is, here is one more advert designed to unload your pockets into someone else's by complicating matters unnecssarily. 10 by 12 lightweight polyethylene tarps are cheap. String some lines to the grommets and get a couple of poles. There you are. Nylon is fine but it has limits that polythylene outstrips. Tents are as fine as fine can be but the tarp is more versatile. It weighs a lot less too. Carry a 25 foot length of cheap rope and you have increased your shelter options even more. Do what you want. I am only pointing out an alternative shelter which I know is fine for bicycle touring. Designer insect repellents are out there.
If Cutter's spray and coils are unacceptable, the tent is your best bet.

How many will be using the tent it does look big?. Can one person set it up? I have 2 rei taj3's. We liked the first one so much we bought another . Its a 3 person tent that fits 2. It has 50 sq' floor space 48'' high. I can set it up myself with someone laughing at me but i can do it. If it rains for a few days you will be glad you have some height inside. It also fits 2 20'' sleeping pads. with some room for your gear.It weighs 7 pounds. remember a 2 person is a 1 person and a 3 person is a 2 person. if you want room to move. also the tents cost around 170.00
