Any comments about linking these two routes from Newport, WA to Clarkston/Lewiston, ID via Coeur d'Alene, ID using ID-41 and ID-95?  Any recommended alternatives? Thanks.

That would be U.S. 95.

We live in Coeur d'Alene and frequently travel (by car) US 95.  The shoulders are good until you hit Worley, then they are pretty much non-existant.  This is a VERY heavily travelled highway with lots of semi traffic.  The road from Coeur d'alene is a 4 lane highway separated by a median, but south of Worley it turns into a narrow 2 land road. I would recommend taking US 95 from CDA to Worley, then HWY 58 west to Rockford, and HWY 27 south to Pullman and hooking up with US 195 from Pullman to Lewiston.  HWYs 27 and 195 are on the Washington side of the border.

Safe journeys,
Cherie
