Does anyone know where in Orange County Ca. I could learn how to work on bikes, whether thru a school or classes?

Check with your local REI; they run basic and advanced bike maintenance classes at most store several times a year.

Check out www.parktool.com.  They have a list of bike shops that offer basic repair classes. Other options  www.bbinstitute.com Offer different types of repair classes in Colorado Springs, CO. The classes are expensive, but you will learn a lot about bicycle repair and walk out as a certified bicycle mechanic.
