Farmington Canal Trail Question!

Hello trusted bikers!  I have spent the last hour online trying to figure out if it is actually possible to bike the Farmington Trail/Greenway all the way up to Northampton, MA.  My bike trip starts October 1st so I need to get my route details in as much order as possible.  Would someone mind letting me know what the status is on this trail?  Thanks!!
