New Guy Intro andOff Road Route info request

Hey There,
I am a new guy to touring, car less and living in Portland, and am just finishing a bike build. So I got the gear, I got the time, it is currently pouring rain as I write this, but this is Portland. As a former MTB rider I want to do some off road camping along with weekend tours. Am planning a trip to the coast to do the Astoria to Tilllamook portion of the Coast Route, as they have buses to both ends. I would like to do the Columbia River route. I found the maps from PDX to the coast. The list is endless for road based rides, but that darn single track bug gnaws at me every time I see Mt. Hood.
So, anyone out there do any off road camping. My bike, a Soma Saga has good clearance, I am struggling to save the $150 for some Schwable Expedition Marathons and I wanna go as soon as the trails dry out a bit. So a call for trail help is being asked for.

I am looking for a riding partner to ride the Banff to Roosville, MT portion of the Great Divide route from about Aug 5 - aug 13.

This is a touring moutain bike ride through the rockies!
