San Fran to Mass...anyone going my way?

I will be starting a tour from San Fran to Mass sometime in late July, and though the idea of completely solo travel is pretty thrilling, its also a bit frightening. Hence I thought I'd post on here to just see if anyone happened to be going that same way around that same time so that as inexperienced as I am I might have some help and co-operation along this tour. Even those going part of this way please respond, as its really just a matter of comfort for a beginner tourer and novice adventurer.
