Download, DVD or Micro SD?
« on: June 24, 2010, 02:14:59 pm »
I have an old but never used Etrex Legend Cx with the basic map software (major cities and roads). I want to buy the North America NT map software. Based on what I read on Garmin website there are advantages and or disadvantages on some or all of the form that software is selling. I have a desktop at home, but will be taking a netbook on tour. Can I download their software on more than one computer?

Yes, you can put the software on any number of computers. Each map set they sell is keyed to just one GPS receiver, no matter which computer it connects to.

Take the DVD over the preloaded Micro SD card. You cannot use the card on a computer, where planning routes is so much easier than on the GPSR. If I recall correctly, the old Etrex does not take SD cards anyway, but I may be forgetful.
