Looking for others biking West to East NOW
« on: June 27, 2010, 12:10:51 pm »
Hello,

I have two friends biking west to east right now, but one of them isn't having the time he imagined he would and would like to come home. However, he doesn't want to leave the other one alone so I'm doing some work to find the other guy a partner/group/anything to bike with him. They're in Eastern California right now, trying to do 50-70 miles a day I think. They're taking the Western Express and then the TransAmerica trail. So if you are someone, or know anyone, who could meet up with them, that would be awesome! Thanks!

Looking for someone traveling the Trans America Trail west to the east coast.  We need to know what the Trail is like beween Praire City and Baker City.  There are 3 passes at the end of the ride were unable to find a place to stay on the map.  Wondering what the camping is like between those two passes do you know.

The area between Prairie City and Baker City is pretty wooded and unpopulated. You can of course camp at the store at Austin Junction, but I don't imagine it would be difficult to find any number of dispersed camping spots. There's a nice campground in Prairie City and you should be able to easily make it to Baker City in a day if you want.

If you're asking about the weather, however, I can't help you there.
