www.downtheroad.org Cindy and Tim Travis have a very good website and have much information on Vietnam.  They have recently completed their third book: I know I will catch some flack, but in the spirit of helping you, I have listed the book below. They loved Vietnam, and it is a great place to tour. The people are very friendly, it is safe and the scenery spectacular.

BOOK #3 - Down The Road in Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam: A Bicycle Tour Through War, Genocide and Forgiveness. BRAND NEW!!!!

"Freedom is addictive" Bicycle touring, for the Travises, is the purest realization of a free life. Tim and Cindie travel farther outside their comfort zone than ever before. They encountered oppressive communism, thieves; and a fist fight with a drunken man in rural Vietnam. Exposure to War and Genocide were reminders of how precious life can be. Despite all this the Travises once again were humbled by the warmth and friendliness of humanity.

I have cycled the length of the country from Hanoi to Saigon. Its hard to get lost since you can essentially follow Highway 1!

Happy cycling,

For those who look for challenging cycling trips, then the northern Vietnam will be the #1 place. Here are the top places for biking in northern Vietnam:

1/ Mai Chau
2/ Tam Coc "Halong bay in-land"
3/ Sapa
4/ Yen Bai
5/ Lai Chau

You may find other places :)
