Salsa Fargo Front Rack
« on: October 16, 2010, 10:55:13 am »
Does anyone have photos of ANY brands of racks mounted on their Fargos? (Mainly the Front Rack)
(Surly Nice Racks, Old Man Mountain, Tubus, Nitto, Salsa-coming in November, others, etc.)
I'd like to SEE how they fit:
-clearance on the disk brake
-clearance for the fender and tire
-if they sit level.
Also if any custom mods had to be made to mount them.

Thanks .

Don't know if this has been posted, I did a quick google:

Picture and also a list of compatible front forks for the Fargo...

I didn't do an exhaustive search..

Please be aware that the Fargo has, in some cases, major handling problems if fitted with front racks.

I have a Salsa Fargo with a Surly Nice Rack on the front.  I did space the left side over about 1/2 of an inch to clear the Avid bb7 brakes I installed.  I have loaded the bike with quite a bit of weight, and I have not noticed any adverse handling because of it.  My frame is the XXL.  I'll try and take some photos for you later.  I'm happy with the fit and function of this rack on this bike.
