Western end of the Southern Tier

Ill be taking TA across but my dilemma is - Do I want to take the Grand Canyon Connector to the ST and be in the desert midsummer OR bypass GCC and just take Western Express???

The only thing that I dont like the thought of is the brutality of a midsummer desert crossing. What are your experiences on the westernmost leg of the ST from Tempe, AZ to San Diego, CA in July/August?

Beautiful just goes without saying here...

Enjoy the Ride!

Asked and answered many times here. Rather than repeat it all, I suggest a search. Get the list of topics in the Routes forum on your screen, click the Search tab, and match all words in this:

                "southern tier" summer

I remember drinking three gallons of liquids daily and not being able to uriate for three days at a time. How is that for sweating and heat? I remember drinking down 46 ounces of liquid before going to sleep, sweating through the night, and waking up quite dehydrated. The sun and heat can be brutal and cut your mileage down quite a bit.
