Cycling through Tucson

Hello, I'm going to be cycling through Tucson in February 2011. Just wondering if anybody knows of any campgrounds that accepts tents? Thankyou.

I camped out for a month is the winter of 1971 at a great little place SE of town called Colossal Caves.  It's still there, as of about 5-10 years ago, but I don't know the camping situation these days.  Check it out--they may still give cave tours, too.

Catalina State Park. Watch out for rattlesnakes.
Though Saguaro National Park does not have camping it is a nice ride through the park, especially the east section.

I stayed at Cactus Country which is south of Tucson. they have a nice shaded  tent area, with pool, and game room to read and hang out. It was very hot when I camped in my tent, so I appreciated the shelter. They're very friendly there. don't got many tents.

I have cycled through Tucson several times and have always stayed in motels. If you are willing to stay in small, older, but reasonably clean dives you can get a room for $25.00 a day with hot running water and all the amenities. There were a lot of rough looking street type characters in the neighbrhood where I rented a room for three days, but I did not have any problems with anyone. Though some did seem to  have hostile attitudes, it didn't matter because I had nothing to do with them. There is also a hostel in Tucson and a nice library for checking email, though you may have to wait in line to use the service. Just have a latte across the street till your time comes up. No problem.

Hate to hijack the thread, but figured we might have some Tucson natives who check it out and they could help me. I'm flying to Tucson for bidness next Saturday and bringing my Bike Friday New World Tourist, just looking for some fun day rides. Any 1-4 hour loops you locals would recommend?

I'm not a local, but if you like gnarly climbs, Mt Lemon north of town is famous.
