Oh, come on, let's hear some of your musical faves!  I am similarly always seeking to expand my sonic horizons.

Thanks for taking the time to post some cool stuff Waynemyer and McParsons. Another non-music rider here, so I've stayed out of the discussion.

Wayne, here's some classic sonic ear candy produced probably before you were a twinkle in your mother's eye: Synergy - Phobos and Deimos go to Mars
and some of the stuff you posted reminds me of Zero 7: Destiny

and mcparsons, I like many of the Putumayo Groove, Lounge, and World offerings:
 Bendeniz "Kirmizi Biber"
Chico Cesar "Mama Africa"

Latin:
Raul Paz
Gabriel Rios
Gilberto Gil  Brazilian classics
Daddy Yankee
Alex Gaudino Very thematic

Thai pop:
Nink
Carabao  Thai Alabama - these guys are the real thing

African pop:
SK Blue My favorite song of all time
Professor Jay

Other
Ward 21 Gangsta
Johnny Cash Biking anthem
Red Hot Chili Pipers Because everything goes better with pipers
Wowzers!  Thank you for the Pipers link!  They are so going on my Amazon Wishlist.  They remind me of Portland's Last Regiment of Syncopated Drummers.  But Pipers seem to have a lot more soul and depth.  Seriously, the Pipers are going into regular rotation.

I can do without the AutoTune, but I do love good pop.  Thank you for the links.

Just because someone doesn't listen to music while riding doesn't mean that listening to music is precluded!   ;D

Just how old (young) do you think I am?   ;D  I totally aware of Larry Fast's work.  Although, to be completely honest, it was his synth work with Peter Gabriel that first brought him to my attention.

And Zero 7...  oooh, aaah.  I saw them live last year.  Amazing.  I see you a Zero 7 and raise you a Thievery Corporation.

If you like world music, I highly suggest just about everything on the Six Degrees label.  "Asian Travels," "African Travels," "Six Degrees 100," and just about everything... I have always been very happy with every single purchase off of the label.

Banco de Gaia - Last Train to Lhasa, serious traveling music.

Keep the suggestions coming!

Personally for cycling/ walking/ going anywhere I like to listen to fairly Arythymic music although if im somewhere nice like a forest or beach etc. ambient music is always nice.
Great bands, go will with a good sunset

This Will Destroy You

Caspian

These are a little heavier but still exceptional
Fall of Troy
And some more out of the box "music"
If you like "sonic material" this will make your ears weep with joy

Were they as good live as I'd imagine them to be?
