Good Bike Shop in the Vancouver Area?
« on: March 11, 2011, 04:14:41 pm »
Hello all, I am planning a standard Pacific Coast Route tour early this summer and plan to ship my bikes out to a shop in Vancouver for assembly and tune-up to be waiting on us upon our arrival.  Since this will be last work on my bike before a serious distance, I want to know that the work was done carefully and will be accomplished on time (preferably at a reasonable cost).  Does anyone have any recommendations for a good shop you have worked with in the past or any warnings about a shop that was unreliable and did poor quality work?  As a novice tourer, I really appreciate any tips.

I rode the Pacific coast in the fall of 2010 and used The Bike Doctor in Vancouver to have my bike assembled.  They were great to work with and did exactly what they said they would do, at a decent price. They also did me the added favor of having my hard cased ship to my brother in San Diego, where it was waiting for me when I arrived.  I'd highly recommend them.

Thanks, I looked at their website and they look good.  I'll give them a try.  I appreciate your advice.  Take care.
