Atlantic Coast Section 1 2011 Panel 6 detour - 2011

Riding this section on 8/14/11, if found that there is a detour due to road construction on panel 6 of section 1 of the Atlantic Coast route. On the SB route, leaving West Pownal and heading toward Gray, Depot Rd is closed. The detour follows Rt. 231 South to Rt. 115 North and rejoins the route at the intersection of 115 and Depot. This detour is approximately 8 miles long. There is fresh pavement on Depot Rd. at both ends. I tried riding Depot road and found that the closure starts at the railroad crossing that is noted as being at the bottom of the steep hill on the route map, you may be able to walk your bike through the  construction area, but I do not know the distance of the area under construction. I rode back out and took the detour.
