Bell Helmets

Picked up a Bell helmet at Costco for $24.99+tax. It's the Crux model with 21 vents, 14 in the front 7 in the back. A universial head size from 21-23 5/8in - 53-60cm, thought it was a good buy for the price.

If having the latest style or color isn't important, the big retailers (Nashbar, Performance, etc.) often have Bell or Giro helmets at very attractive prices for last year's models.   I've bought several for $30 or less.

The good thing about helmets is that they all, from the cheapest to the most absurdly expensive (>$200 for some) are equally safe and protective as they all have to meet CPSC specifications.  What more money buys you is lighter weight, better ventillation, more comfortable interior and strap arrangements and more "cred" with your riding buddies.
